about Individual (Non-Member) Subscriptions

1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

   Yes, when you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

2. What if I forget my password?

   We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription process.

3. Why should I get an Individual (Non-Member) subscription?

   Individual (Non-Member) Subscribers have access to:

   Tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, document delivery, PDFs, links to Medline and GenBank, and the advantage of having password access to Circulation from any computer connected to the Internet.

4. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?

   If your institution has a paper subscription, it will be eligible to have an electronic version of the journal as well. In so doing, you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, PDFs, Medline and GenBank links. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.

   If your institution does not have a paper subscription, it cannot get an electronic version of AHA Journals. If you would like to have an institutional subscription, please contact your local librarian.

5. Will I still be able to get the paper version? And for how long?

   Yes, if you are a print subscriber will continue to be able to receive the paper version along with your online access. Customers who sign up for online only subscriptions will not receive a paper version.

6. Who is eligible for an Individual (Non-Member) and a Member Subscription?

   Individual (Non-Member) subscriptions are available to all individuals, and include a print subscription with FREE online access to one (or more) of the AHA Journals Online. Online only subscriptions are also available at an individual (non-member) rate.

   Current members of an AHA Scientific Council are eligible for subscriptions, both print and online, at the member rate. You can join or renew a membership to an AHA Council ONLINE.

   Without a subscription, you have access to tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.

7. How can I access AHA Journals Online if I am not an AHA member and I don't have access through an institutional subscription?

   You may wish to apply for AHA membership or you may wish to purchase an Individual (Non-Member) print subscription, which includes access to the online version. By becoming a member of an AHA Council you may sign up for a print subscription at the discounted member rate. Online only subscriptions are also available. Without a subscription, you have access to tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.

8. How do I become a member of the AHA?

   Information about AHA Scientific Council memberships is available ONLINE or by contacting the AHA Customer Service Department.
